Leadership Camp
What our day camp is about
At WindOver Meadows we are all about skills development. We do this in a non traditional way, we have the horses be our teachers and the people are the facilitators. Our youth programs look at communication, body language and working together. We strive to learn to see ourselves and others through the eyes of a horse.
Each participant will buddy up with a horse for the week, together with their equine partner they will learn/experience how to communicate with their horse and how to care for them. We will discuss the similarities with our horses and our lives, in a fun, didnt realize that was happening kinda way.
Our mornings will begin with stable management; feeding, cleaning, grooming, caring for our equine partner.
We will spend the week working through a series of fun leadership programs with our horse.
We will learn how to read a horses body language and how their herd functions.
The one thing we will not do Monday - Thursday is ride our horses. This is a ground work camp that is really about horsemanship and leadership. Fridays are another story. Friday if the participant would like to ride there will be the opportunity. Its cowboy/cowgirl day. We will do parts of our regular day but we will add a ride on our horses and some roping.
Ages 8 and up
9am-3pm Cost $325 per week.
Please remember programs are run outside to meet all COVID Protols, masks must be brought.
Tents will be put up in the event of rain and the barn can be opened up.
